Dr Christine Chen
Founder and President of the Association for Early Childhood Educators (AECES)
Dr. Christine Chen holds dual portfolios as the Founder President of the Association for Child Care Educators (ACCE) and as the Founder and President of the Association for Early Childhood Educators (AECES).
Dr. Chen received her Doctor of Education from George Washington University and Masters of Science in Early Childhood Education from Bank Street College of Education, New York City. Prior to this, she graduated from the University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work.
A pioneer in the early childhood education arena with more than 25 years industry experience, Dr. Chen is a keen advocate of professional development and learning for early childhood educators. She represents Singapore in the Pacific Early Childhood Education Research Association (PECERA) and serves on the Editorial Board for the International Journal of Early Childhood Education and the International Journal of Early Childhood Education and Care.
She has served in key international organisations as Director of Asia-Pacific Regional Network for Early Childhood (ARNEC) from 2014 to 2016, President of Association for Childhood Education International (ACEI) from 2015 – 2017, Deputy Chairwoman of Asia-Pacific Preschool Education Association from 2014 – 2019, and is also a Member of the Advisory Board of IndoCare – Indonesia Centre for Autism Resource and Expertise.
Through the Singapore International Foundation, she completed a stint of voluntary work in Vietnam with the National College of Education, Hanoi.
